About Word Puzzle Helper

Word Puzzle Helper is a free collection of word-game tools designed to help players of all skill levels find valid words, check patterns, and explore their options across a wide range of popular word games. Whether you are stuck on a Scrabble rack, narrowing down a Wordle guess, or filling in a tricky crossword clue, Word Puzzle Helper gives you fast, accurate results drawn from a comprehensive English dictionary.

What the tools do

Unscramble
Enter a set of letters and instantly see every valid word that can be formed from them. Results are ranked by Scrabble tile value so you can spot the highest-scoring play at a glance. Useful for Scrabble, Words With Friends, and the NYT Spelling Bee.
Wordle Solver
Enter the green, yellow, and grey feedback from your current Wordle attempt and the solver narrows the dictionary down to words that match all your constraints. Works for the standard 5-letter Wordle as well as variants with word lengths from 4 to 8.
Pattern / Crossword
Type a word pattern using * for each unknown letter (for example, c*os*w*rd) and see every dictionary word that fits. Ideal for crossword puzzles where you already know some letters and their positions.
Anagram Solver
A dedicated anagram finder with full Scrabble scoring. Enter any combination of letters and receive a complete list of valid words sorted by score, grouped by word length.

Games supported

  • Scrabble and Words With Friends — use the anagram and unscramble tools to find top-scoring plays from your rack.
  • Wordle — use the Wordle Solver to eliminate candidates after each guess.
  • NYT Spelling Bee — use the "first letter must appear in every result" option so every suggestion contains the required centre letter.

Dictionaries

The default dictionary is a general English word list containing around 370,000 words. Optional Scrabble-specific dictionaries (TWL for North America and SOWPODS for international play) can be selected from the Options panel to restrict results to tournament-legal words.
